Got to the lake an hour early and straight out on the 8.5. I gather the morning had been 6.5 to 7 weather, and down to 100l possibly. But the wind was dropping all afternoon. The race tonight was in the end run on a course rather than slalom some choosing big other's smaller boards. It was seriously physical, at the top mark I was well and truly out of breath pumping hard to get upwind as fast as I could. I fell off at one buoy early on, but managed to recover and get back to 1st place. Then David Tiffen got tactical, blocked my wind and I caught a gust and nearly came off again. I managed to claw back a bit, but 2nd was fine. Really good fun race. Well done to all.
